Cocanougher reunion will be held 28 Jul 2019

Cocanougher name was also recorded over the years as Conour or Connour. Connours live in various states but due to genealogical work by this family they were able to trace themselves to Kentucky Cocanougher family.

By Mike Crain

For the first time in over 200 years there will be another family of a child of Jacob and Eleanor (Neley) Silvertooth Cocanougher represented at The Kentucky Cocanougher Reunion.

Many of them will join us (mostly descendants of George & Martha (Hilton) Cocanougher families) on Sunday, July 28, 2019 at the Cocanougher Reunion at The American Legion Hall in Perryville KY from 11am-4pmET.

This is near Hillcrest Cemetary on W US 150. A potluck meal will be enjoyed about 12:45pm. Some Connours and Cocanoughers will share displays, pictures, stories, and information.

John Cocanougher moved from the Cocanougher Homestead on Long Run near Texas, Washington County, Kentucky to Indiana territory about 1800 then on to Southeast Illinois area. Here he and his family settled living for generations even to this date. The clerks filing deeds spelled their Cocanougher name as Conour or Connour. Today these Connours live in various states but due to genealogical work by this family they were able to trace themselves to our Kentucky Cocanougher family.

We will also play our traditional game of "Who Has It?" offering prizes to winners. If you wish to donate prizes, please bring them to a table that will be set up. Hopefully we will make a group picture just prior to the meal about 12:30 pm as some get away after lunch.

Please plan to attend. Invite other families and friends. If you need further information, contact Mike Crain phone 859-368-3853 email Postcardlex@aol.com or Bill & Sue Connour phone 402-432-2692 email connour@windstream.net.
