Dale Lunsford, 89, Russell Springs, KY (1929-2019)

Dale Lunsford of Russell Springs, died Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at the Russell County Hospital. He was 89 years old.

The funeral service for Dale Lunsford will be held at 2pmCT Friday, June 28, 2019 at the Bernard Funeral Home, 367 N. Main St., Russell Springs, KY with Bro. Steve Bennett officiating. Interment will follow in the Fairview Cemetery.

Visitation is requested from 10amCT on Friday until funeral time at 2pmCT.


He was born August 13, 1929 in Estill County to the late Robert Boyd & Janice Tuggle Lunsford.

He was a maintenance worker at John Sherman Power Plant, a Veteran of US Army and a member of Fairview Baptist Church.

In addition ot his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Ralph Travis Lunsford, Raymond Tracy Lunsford, Robert Bruce Lunsford, Rudolph Lunsford and 5 sisters; Artemisia Lunsford, Dorothy Goode, Dovie Daniel, Nancy Boyd Wheeler, Nelly Kelly.

Survivors include:
  • His wife: Betty Hopper Lunsford
  • Two sons: Matthew Lunsford, Micah Lunsford
  • One daughter: Martha Lunsford, all of Russell Springs
  • One sister: Verna Thornton Lunsford, of Irvine, Ky
The funeral service for Dale Lunsford will be held at 2pmCT Friday, June 28, 2019 at the Bernard Funeral Home, 367 N. Main St., Russell Springs, KY with Bro. Steve Bennett officiating. Interment will follow in the Fairview Cemetery.
