LWC Swimming earn CSCAA Scholar All-America Team honors

By Chris Wells

The Lindsey Wilson men and women's swim teams earned College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-America Team distinction for the spring semester, CSCAA officials announced on Monday.

The honor is reserved for teams that achieved a grade point average of 3.0 or higher during the 2019 spring semester. A record 777 teams from NCAA Divisions I, II and III, NAIA, and NJCAA received the honor, including 11 men's teams and 17 women's teams from the NAIA.

The Lindsey Wilson men's swim team recorded a 3.48 grade point average in the spring -- the highest among the NAIA men's teams. The Blue Raider women posted a 3.60 GPA in the spring, second only to Morningside's (Iowa) 3.61.

This spring honor marks the 11th straight semester that the LWC men and women's swimming teams have earned the recognition.

Founded in 1922, the College Swimming Coaches Association of America -- the oldest organization of college coaches in America -- is a professional organization of college swimming and diving coaches dedicated to serving and providing leadership for the advancement of the sport of swimming & diving at the collegiate level.
