Letter: Where was Press Miller property

Ann Curtis writes:
Pen, I'm enjoying reading these articles written by your Dad in the late 70s, since I wasn't living in Columbia then, and there was no Columbiamagazine in those days! He was certainly a wonderful writer and observer of his favorite place.

Something that I would like to find out more about is where the Press Miller property was located, as mentioned in the article. I can figure out the Finis Phelps place from the information given, and I remember Noah Loy's home (we frequently used to drive him and Mrs. Loy home after church at the Methodist Church on Sundays).

I have a photo from 1921 of a group on Gaston Avenue, which would have run beside Noah Loy's house. The photo is labeled "Nathan Phelps 40th birthday party"...and in the picture, among others, are Mr. Press Miller and his family. So they must have lived somewhere in that vicinity. I wonder where???

Since you are much younger than I, you probably have no idea either! Just curious. --Ann

Ann, thanks for writing. Most of my memories are a little later, when the Burger Queen and the Pizza Hut popped up. Hopefully some other CM readers can fill in the picture a bit. And I hope you'll share the photo from 1921. --Pen
