Farmers Market on the Square meets requirements for season The Columbia Adair County Farmers Market on the Square, FM2, begins in just a few days - Saturday, April 6, 2019! The directors would like you to know some of the regulations they meet. By Darrell Andrew About The Farmers' Market on the Square LLC: What it does - Provides location for producers to market their products and for consumers to purchase the products. The Market advertises and promotes the vendors/producers. The Market is registered with the Ky Department of Agriculture, a registered Ky Proud Member, and functions under the Ky Proud Farmers' Market Guidelines as well as functioning under all local, state and federal rules, regulations and laws. Member/Producer/Vendor requirements: Products are produced by the member. Vegetable and Fruit producers must have a Produce Best Practice Training. Approximately 2 hours. Members must be a Ky Proud Member. WIC and Senior nutritional vouchers must have annual trainings and sign individual agreements with the State. All vendors that offer samples must have a food sampling certificate which requires a training course. All home processors must provide proof of water quality. All home processors that pressure can food must take a Micro Processor Training. All products must meet with labeling requirements. All prepared food vendors must take and pass a food managers course and have a local farmers market food vendors permit. All classes and trainings are approximately 16 hours.
