Women's Indoor Track and Field Closes out NAIA National Championships

Brookings, SD - The Lindsey Wilson Women's Indoor Track & Field team closed out the final day of competition on Saturday at the 2019 NAIA Indoor Track & Field National Championships, held at the Sanford Jackrabbit Athletic Complex.

The Blue Raiders finished in a six-way tie for 28th with a total of 10 team points.


Safia Bright competed in two finals on Saturday in the 60-meter and 200-meter events. Bright finished in fourth place in both the 60-meter and the 200-meter. She finished the 60 with a time of 7.63 while also recording a time of 24.55 in the 200-meter, which is good for All-American honors in both events. Bright was able to claim all 10 of LWC's team points during her time competing.

Paige Pettell and Oreatha Hurt also competed on Saturday. Pettell finished the day with a ninth overall finish in the women's shot put with a distance of 13.89-meters. Hurt competed in the triple jump finishing 30th with an overall time of 10.86 meters.
