Macdonald earns second All-American Honors

Columbus, GA - The Lindsey Wilson women's swimming team added an All-American honor on the third day of competition at the NAIA National Swimming Championships.

The women's swimming team sits in eighth place with 124 team points heading into the last day of competition. SCAD-Savannah (GA) leads the women's side with 452 team points. Keiser (FL) sits in second place with 315 team points while Cumberlands (KY) sits in third with 269.5 points.


-PRELIMINARIES-

In the first event of the third day of competition, the relay of Bailey Seitz, Sloane Smith, Jessica Macdonald, and Carlene Taylor earned a ninth-place finish in the 200 medley relay. The women earned a spot in the consolation heat with a time of 1:51.35.

In the 200 freestyle, Jessica Macdonald earned her second individual final with a third-place finish in 1:53.79. Taylor added with a consolation spot with a 16th place finish, hitting the wall in 1:59.00.

Smith placed 18th for Lindsey Wilson in the 400 individual medley touching the wall in 4:51.45. Smith added a 22nd place finish in the 100 breaststroke finishing in 1:09.30.

Sarah Hahn finished the 100 backstroke in 21st place with a time of 1:02.35 while Bailey Seitz finished 29th in 1:03.71.

-FINALS-

Jessica Macdonald earned her second individual NAIA All-American honors for the second time this season with a third-place finish in the 200 freestyle in 1:52.96. Macdonald's finals time earned her a new Lindsey Wilson program record.

In the 200 medley relay, the team of Seitz, Smith, Macdonald and Taylor added a ninth-place finish with a time of 1:50.51.
