By Linda Waggener

The Adair County School Board met Thursday, February 21, 2019 with students from ACPC (Adair County Primary Center) leading the group in the the Pledge of Allegiance.

Superintendent Dr. Pam Stephens said, "We've accomplished one thing the public will want to know for making long range family plans, we were able to adopt the 2019-2020 school calendar. The first day of school will be August 8, 2019 through the 14th of May, 2020."

Dean of Students Robbie Harmon handed out what he called the "new, new" current calendar - if no more days have to be missed this semester - tentatively - the last day of this 2018-2019 school year will be May 23, 2019, with graduation on May 24, 2019.

Dr. Stephens said everyone is proud of the second-year swim team at the high and middle schools. Three student swimmers qualified for state competition. One of the three chose to participate, Luke Rich, the youngest participant in the state participating at state swim competition.

Principal Burton reported that he'd just received a text, "5th grader Jenna Claywell, an awesome individual, just got first place in her age group in braille." He said congratulations again to the Academic Team, district champs as they prepare to head to regional competition.

Athletics are starting up at each school as much as is possible, hampered by all the rain this season.

All Principals gave their GAP reports with progress being made at each of the four schools.
