Continued rain and warmer, high 59F

It's currently 41F at the Adair County Mesonet station. Expect rain and possibly a thunderstorm today. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain, and the area remains under a flood watch through 6amCT tomorrow. Today's high should be near 59F. Light south wind increasing to 15 to 20 mph in the morning. Winds could gust as high as 36 mph. Today's chance of precipitation is 100%, and new rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch are possible.

Showers remain likely tonight, mainly before 9pmCT, then mostly cloudy, with a low around 35F. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph becoming light and variable after midnight. The overnight chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch are possible.

Thursday should be partly sunny, with a high near 52F and north wind 3 to 6 mph, before the wet weather returns Thursday night and continue through the weekend.

Russell Creek usually flows gently in way less than the space it's taking up today. Water is way out of its banks and the level has been rising since we got up this morning. It is near to the underside of the bridge near the intersection of Highway 206 and Green Hills Road.

If we get many more inches of rain overnight, the list of closed bridges and roads are sure to grow. Water levels under Highway East 80 bridge have risen throughout the day but currently remains open.
