Watch for black ice early, high 34F, then much colder tonight

It's currently 26F at the Adair County Mesonet station. It should be cloudy through mid morning, then gradually clear, with a high near 34F and west wind 7 to 11 mph.

Wintry precipitation has mostly ended across the region this morning, but the combination of still wet roadways and temperatures in the 20s will allow for some slick spots. Motorists should use caution and watch for black ice during the morning commute. Allow a little extra time for travel this morning and pay especially close attention near bridges and overpasses.

Tonight there is a slight chance of snow before 10pmCT, then a chance of flurries between 10pmCT and 3amCT. It should be cloudy overnight, with a low around 14F. Wind chill values are expected to be as low as 3F. West wind 7 to 13 mph, with gusts as high as 23 mph. The chance of precipitation is 20%.

Friday will be sunny and cold, with a high near 24F. Wind chill values as low as 1F. West wind 6 to 10 mph. Friday night will bring increasing clouds, with a low around 19F. Southwest wind 5 to 7 mph.
