J.O.Y. Ministries offers thanks for help meeting the goal

By Maggie Coleman

JOY Ministries would like to officially state our heartfelt thanks to everyone in the community who donated to our annual fund campaign. We have reached our goal of $15,000! This money will go towards our local ministry to reach those in crisis.

In February we will have two fundraisers— A chili supper on February 23rd at Wheet Fellowship Hall, and the selling of chocolate-dipped strawberries for Valentines Day. These events will bring in funds to sponsor a youth mission trip to Puerto Rico over spring break and to support our Tammy Reeder Service Scholarship Fund.

In March, we will begin officially fundraising for the emergency shelter. We are currently moving ahead with our plans to put a one unit shelter in a portion of the 911 parking lot. Just this week we received a $1000 grant to begin work on this project.

Thank you Adair county for all you do to reach out to those in crisis and to support and equip our young Christian leaders through JOY Ministries.
