Public hearing on upgrading campsite at Barren River Lake SRP

The Kentucky State Parks will hold a public hearing Jan. 24 for a grant to help make campground improvements at Barren River Lake State Resort Park.

The hearing will be at 6pmCT at Barren River Lake State Resort Park, 1149 State Park Road, Lucas, KY, as part of the Kentucky Department of Parks Land and Water Conservation Fund grant process.

The hearing, held under the Land and Water Conservation Fund Act of 1965 (Public Law 88-578), is to receive public input for the proposal.


If funded, the selected upgraded campsites are located at Barren River Lake State Resort Park and include sewer, water and electric improvements.

The hearing is open to anyone interested in making a comment on the proposed project. It will be held in the Public Meeting Room inside the lodge.

Written comments can be sent to: Land and Water Conservation Fund Program; Governor's Office, Department for Local Government, 1024 Capital Center Drive, Suite 340 Frankfort, KY 40601. Comments are due by February 7, 2019.
