Lindsey Wilson News Notes

This article first appeared in issue 16, and was written by Staff.

Lindsey Wilson College is making a lot of news right now, local, state and even national, with it's completed Begley Chapel.

Meanwhile many other good things are also going on at the campus, including:

-Student enrollment for this school year is 1,425, an all time record and a 4.5 percent increase over last fall. After 20 years of annual growth, admissions officials say they plan to focus on more and more on quality. The new fall class includes three Governor's Scholars and a high school valedictorian. This year's student body includes students form 62 Kentucky counties, 15 states and 18 foreign countries.

-Lindsey Wilson's nationally recognized graduate program in counseling and human development continues to attract students from throughout Kentucky. The program, one of only two in the commonwealth with national accreditation, now has 42 enrolled.

-A $250,000 gift to promote service-learning and other horizon-broadening opportunities for students was recently received from the Agape Foundation of Smithfield.
