Gwendolyn Dunbar Conn, 92, Russell Co., KY (1926-2018) She worked as a homemaker, medical assistant and caregiver to the elderly. Gwen was a devoted Christian, a gifted singer and a musician and remained active in worship services as her health permitted. Gwendolyn Dunbar Conn, age 92, died December 28 at the Williamsburg Health and Rehabilitation Center in Williamsburg, KY. Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, January 4, 2019, at the Bernard Funeral Home, 367 N. Main St., Russell Springs, KY, with Bro. Jason Davidson officiating. Burial will be in the Square Oak Cemetery. Visitation will take place at 10amCT on Friday, with the funeral to follow at 11amCT. Born and raised in the Caney Fork Creek community of Russell County, KY, Gwen was the daughter of the late Corbin Dunbar and Flona Popplewell Dunbar. She worked as a homemaker, medical assistant and caregiver to the elderly. Gwen was a devoted Christian, a gifted singer and a musician and remained active in worship services as her health permitted. Survivors include her son Joseph L. Conn, son-in-law Richard L. Mowery and 13 nephews and nieces and their families. They are Barry Michael Dunbar, Lisa Finch, Randy Davidson, David Davidson, Marsha Costner Parrish, Kathy Cutler, Larry Perkins, Sherry Smith, Mick Perkins, Rita Wiggington, Steve Wiggington, Royce Wiggington, and Ron Morrison. Gwen is also survived by her dedicated caregiver of eight years, Kay Partin. In addition to her parents, Gwen was preceded in death by one brother and four sisters: Quentin Dunbar, Robertta Morrison, Colleen Perkins, Gyla Harrison and Elaine Davidson.
