Martha Jean Stotts, 72, Adair County, KY

She loved gardening, sewing, caring for her family and being her husband's caregiver for the past 30 years before his passing in January of 2018.

Martha Jean Stotts, 72, of Columbia died Tuesday, December 25, 2018 at her residence.

Funeral services will be held at 2pmCT Saturday, December 29, 2018 at the Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home with burial in the Columbia Cemetery. Visitation will be on Saturday from 10:30amCT until time for the service at the funeral home. Bro. Ralph Foster will be officiating and pallbearers will be Ricky Dale Slayton, Jacob Harris, Blake Stotts, David Stotts, Kel Stotts and Sammy Stotts.



Born in Columbia she was the daughter of the late Si and Allene Dial Harmon and wife of the late Arlis David Stotts.

Mrs. Stotts loved gardening, sewing, caring for her family and being her husband's caregiver for the past 30 years before his passing in January of 2018.

Survivors include
  • Eight children Phillip Stotts (Melissa), Ricky Lynn Stotts (Theresa), Mark Stotts (Angie), Melissa Harris (James), Jennifer Stotts-Lundy (Greg), Leslie Preston (Ricky Dale), Amy Stotts-Dotson and Kevin Stotts all of Columbia

  • Her special dog and companion Tootie

  • 13 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren

  • A sister Mary Lucy Davis of Greensburg and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a son David Allen Stotts and a brother Ralph Harmon.

Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY, is in charge of arrangements.
