Harold McKinney to retire as Boyle Judge Executive

By Gary Lane

Adair County native Harold McKinney is retiring as Judge Executive in Boyle County as of December 31, 2018. Following his last fiscal court meeting, a reception was held to honor the judge and the retiring magistrates.

The magistrates presented an oversized gavel to Judge McKinney as a token of their appreciation for his leadership for the last eleven years. The gavel had their names engraved on a gold plate along with best wishes to the Judge in his retirement.

Interestingly, Judge McKinney gaveled his first fiscal court meeting eleven years ago with a small gavel his father, Eugene McKinney, made of wood from the old Adair County courthouse. He gaveled his last meeting to order with the same gavel.
