LWC men's basketball hosts IU-Southeast Saturday

The Lindsey Wilson men's basketball team hosts NAIA Division II, Indiana University- Southeast at 5:30pmCT on Saturday, December 15 at Biggers Sports Center, 360 Spickard Drive, Columbia, KY.

This is matchup is the rescheduled game from November 13 that was postponed due to a travel issue.


The Blue Raiders (7-4) return to action after an 82-54 victory over Carver (Ga.) on December 8. Fredens Deneus led LWC with his fifth double-double of the season, scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds. The Blue Raiders shot 41 percent from the field and 72 percent from the free throw line.

LWC is ranked in the top-five in NAIA in scoring defense, holding opponents to 62.4 points per game average. Pierre Lys is ranked sixth in the NAIA in total steals with 26 this season.

IU-Southeast (8-5) returns to action after a 94-84 home loss to Cumberlands (Ky.) Saturday evening. The Grenadiers are led by Jamie Johnson, who averages 22.9 points, 4.3 assists and 2.3 steals per game. IUSE is ranked second in NAIA Division II in total steals with 140. The Grenadiers are also ranked third in total three-point field goals made with 162.

Saturday's matchup marks the 12th meeting, as the Blue Raiders lead the series 6-5. The last meeting resulted in a 77-66 victory for the Blue Raiders.
