About Messiah-Sing: Making Room For A Crowd By Gerald Chafin From the Dublin, Ireland News Journal, April 10, 1742: Announcing the upcoming performance of George Frederick Handel's new work: MESSIAH. "We kindly request that the Ladies who honour this Performance with their Presence would be pleased to come without Hoops, as it will greatly encrease the charity, by making Room for more company. Also that the Gentlemen are desired to come without their Swords, again for the purpose of making more room to encrease the Charity."Lindsey Wilson College Choral Ensembles with members of the Louisville Symphony and YOU! will once again present selections from Handel's beloved masterwork on Tuesday, December 4, at 7pmCT at Columbia Baptist Church, 201 Greensburg St., Columbia, KY. The performance is patterned after Messiah sing-alongs in which the audience joins in singing the choral sections. Choral scores will be available for you at the performance. A second performance will be Wednesday, December 5, at Homeplace on Green River, 5807 New Columbia Road, Campbellsville, KY, at 6pmCT/7pmET. For reservations to the Homeplace performance, contact Phil Hanna: 270-384-2894 or cphanna51@msn.com This story was posted on 2018-11-27 06:17:14
