Salvation Army Kettle Bell Ringing If you'd like more information for a group, or even if you and your family want to ring one day, please contact me by emailing vickousn@lindsey.edu By Natalie Vickous I am the new Kettle Chair for the Salvation Army located here in Columbia, and the Kettle Ringing Season is upon us! If your business or a group in which you're involved wants to ring the bell on any day, please reach out to me - I'd love to set it up with you! The Salvation Army provides funds for disaster relief and welfare incidents here in Adair County, as well as helping keep JOY Ministries' pantry stocked, and of course, organizing the Angel Tree program. It's a great organization, and the funds raised in this month of time are what carry over for a lot of what they're able to do throughout the entire year. We'll have kettles at IGA, Tractor Supply, and both doors of Walmart from November 24 to December 24, 2018 with the ringing starting at 10amCT and going until 8pmCT. You're welcome to fill an entire day, or simply as much as you're able. For example, some businesses are ringing on their lunch hours, or groups have chosen to ring for a three-hour block one evening, etc. What many groups do is choose a day, I send a sign-up sheet, then they fill that day as much as they're able with volunteers from their organization. If you'd like more information for a group, or even if you and your family want to ring one day, please contact me by emailing vickousn@lindsey.edu Thanks so much, Natalie Vickous, Director Civic Engagement & Student Leadership Bonner Program Director Lindsey Wilson College This story was posted on 2018-11-22 15:42:05
