Operation Christmas Child has a huge Wednesday

Click headline for story with photos

By Mark Fudge

Over 1,300 Christmas boxes were dropped off for Operation Christmas Child on Wednesday, November 14, 2018, making the total at the end of the day Wednesday 1,665 shoebox gifts dropped off thus far. The 2018 collection goal for Adair County is 3,600 boxes.

OCC National Collection Week is November 12-19, 2018 (Daily Schedule). The Adair County central drop off location this year is located at the Columbia First Church of the Nazarene Wheet Fellowship Building, 1200 Jamestown St., Columbia, KY 42728.

The annual Samaritan's purse project is a favorite of many Adair County residents, families, churches and groups who spread the joy to millions of children around the world by filling shoeboxes with a wow item--like a doll or soccer ball-- and other fun toys, school supplies, hygiene items, other items as well as notes of encouragement.
