Red Lick United Methodist Church held its annual Operation Christmas Child Shoebox packing party on Sunday, November 11, 2018. Missy Lemmon will haul the 90 packed shoeboxes to the distribution center this week. Many families helped with the project and had a wonderful time doing so!

The folks from Red Lick United Methodist hope that the boxes will bring joy to many children. The church is pastored by Brother Larry Lemmon. Brother Lemmon's other congregation, Breeding United Methodist Church, also participated in the program, filling 47 boxes! Thrivent Financial supported the project with a $250 donation that was used to purchase the sturdy plastic boxes for the gifts, and mailing supplies. Thrivent also provided the beautiful shirts shown in the pictures.

The congregation misses Carol and Chris Mullins who have helped in the past, but have moved to Florida with Sophie, the family dog. Sasha Hamilton, Larry Hamilton and Amber Dustin's pet took over mascot duties. The next event for Red Lick UMC will be the annual Thanksgiving gathering next Sunday, November 18. Lois Estes will share her musical talents along with Miss Katherine Lemmon on the piano. The church service will be followed by a delicious meal. Everyone is welcome.
