LWC Volleyball sweeps Pikeville in MSC Quarterfinals By Christopher Coombs Bowling Green, KY - Top-seeded Lindsey Wilson volleyball opened up postseason play this afternoon with a three-game sweep of Pikeville (KY) in the Mid-South Conference Tournament played at Bowling Green High School. Lindsey Wilson used 25-12, 25-14 and 25-13 set results to pick up the victory. The Blue Raiders advance to the tournament semifinals to face the winner of fourth-seeded Cumberlands (KY) and fifth-seeded Cumberland (TN) at NoonCT on Friday. Three Blue Raiders recorded double-doubles in the match, as three LWC student-athletes also hit over .429 during the contest. Klara Mikelova tallied 13 kills and 11 digs as Paulina Sobolewska added 12 kills and 11 digs - hitting a match high .458 -- as Elly Burke added 12 kills and 10 digs. MSC Co-Player of the Year Grace Blomstedt had 10 kills in the match while Autumn Proctor orchestrated the offense with 41 assists. Lilo Larzelere tallied a match-high 13 digs. No. 1-seed Lindsey Wilson (27-3) hit .357 as a team in its quarterfinal win adding 51 kills while limiting the Bears to just 16 kills in the match as they hit just .056 percent. The Blue Raiders added seven service aces in the contest. Pikeville (10-24) was led by Hunter Clewis with a team-high seven kills. The win is the tenth straight for Lindsey Wilson in the Mid-South Conference Tournament. Lindsey Wilson has won the last three conference tournament titles.
