Lwc Slider Center Dedication October 11, 1996 Gives City Arts Showcase This article first appeared in issue 7, and was written by Staff. The public is invited to the dedication of the Slider Humanities Center at Lindsey Wilson College on Friday, October 11. An open house will be held from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. when the ribbon cutting ceremony will take place in front of the building. The center's mission is to provide Southcentral Kentucky a place to showcase local, state and regional performing and visual artists. In order to make the arts more accessible to the region, the center will attempt to keep all events free. The 18,000-square-foot building built in 1925 originally housed the gymnasium, cafeteria and offices. The cafeteria was closed when the Cranmer Dining and Conference Center opened.
