Blue Raider men and women's soccer host Life University Sunday

The Lindsey Wilson women and men's soccer teams host Life University (GA) on Sunday October 28, 2018, at 2pmCT and 4pmCT, respectively at Walter S. Reuling Stadium, 151 Holloway Drive, Columbia, KY.


No. 8 Lindsey Wilson men's soccer (11-2-1, 5-1 MSC) returns to action after a 4-2 home victory over Shawnee State (Ohio) on Friday night. The Blue Raiders had three different goal scorers in Andrew Revanales, Jan Engels and Rainer De Jesus. Revanales kicked it off for the Blue Raiders in the 20th minute off a pass from Engels to capture the first goal of the night. The Bears would capitalize on the Blue Raiders defense and equalize the game at 1-1 in the 38th minute. The second half surge from Revanales, Engels and De Jesus would push LWC past the Bears on the night.

The Blue Raider offense is led by Revanales who ranks second in the MSC in total goals with 15 and game-winning goals with three. The defensive effort is led by senior Goalkeeper, William Diaz, who has posted 32 saves and three shutouts.

Life (7-9-1, 3-3 MSC) gained a road victory against Pikeville (Ky.) 2-0 on Monday evening. The Eagles were led by Theirry Jules, who scored two goals to push Life past the Bears.

The Eagles offense is ranked second in the Mid-South Conference in goals with 42. Jules leads the offensive effort with 12 goals and notching an additional four assists. Jules ranks third in the Mid-South Conference in goals.

Sunday's matchup marks the ninth meeting for the men's programs with Lindsey Wilson leading 6-2 overall. The last matchup occurred last season in MSC tournament Semi-Finals, with the Blue Raiders winning the match 3-2.

No. 14 Lindsey Wilson women's soccer (6-3-2, 4-0-1 MSC) returns to action after a 5-0 home victory over Shawnee State Friday evening. The Blue Raiders had four different goal scorers in the match with Sina Cavelti, Emelie Liljered, Sanna Svensson and Emma Lindell. Cavelti notched two goals in the match, the first being the only goal in the first half at the 34th minute from a pass from Liljered and Svensson. The second goal happened in the second half off on a cross from Amara Safuan which allowed Cavelti to slide the ball near post past the goalkeeper.

LWC is ranked third in the MSC in shutouts with six. Jovana Ivanovic leads the Blue Raider defense with 37 saves and four shutouts. The Blue Raider offense is led by Cavelti, who has notched five goals and five assists on the season.

Life (6-10, 2-4 MSC) is on the road after a 4-0 home loss to Middle Georgia State Wednesday night. The Eagles are ranked third in the MSC in assists, saves and shutouts. The Eagles defensive effort is led by Julia Bernhardt and Sydney Young who combine for 100 saves.

Life's offensive effort is led by Josie Davis and Callie Lambert. Davis and Lambert have combined for 15 of the 31 goals scored by the Eagles.

Sunday's matchup marks the fourth meeting for the women's programs with Lindsey Wilson leading the overall series at 3-0. The last meeting occurred during the 2017 MSC Tournament Quarterfinals, with the Blue Raiders capturing the victory 4-0.
