JOB OPEN AT LWC: CARPENTER

Lindsey Wilson College is seeking an energetic individual to assume carpenter and general maintenance duties. The selected applicant will be responsible for a wide range of carpentry tasks including installation, repair, and maintenance of various structures and fixtures across campus. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety, functionality, and aesthetic appeal of our facilities.

The Carpenter will be responsible for a wide range of carpentry tasks including installation, repair, and maintenance of various structures and fixtures across campus. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety, functionality, and aesthetic appeal of our facilities.

The duties and responsibilities for this position include the following:
- Assist in planning and estimating new and remodeling projects.
- Assist in the procurement of materials and supplies for projects.
- Fabricate, repair, restore, and install floors, doors, windows, stairs, walls, furniture, cabinets, shelves, signs, and roofs.
- Identify and perform routine maintenance tasks on existing structures throughout campus.
- Install tile, carpet, and hardwood flooring.
- Perform door and hardware maintenance.
- Form and pour concrete.
- Perform demolition work.
- Collaborate with other members of Physical Plant to complete projects in a timely manner.
- Other duties as assigned.

To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies to perform the essential functions of this position:
- Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship.
- Proficiency in carpentry techniques.
- Tile, masonry, and drywall installation and repair experience preferred.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- The position requires an individual to be proficient with technology and have knowledge of the tools and equipment required for carpentry.
- High school diploma or equivalent required. Vocational or technical training in carpentry is preferred.
- Proven experience as a skilled craftsman.
- Valid driver's license required.

JOB OPEN AT LWC: VEHICLE FLEET TECHNICIAN

The Vehicle Fleet Technician is responsible to maintain all fleet vehicles in a clean, safe, and reliable operating condition by performing basic vehicle care and maintenance and by coordinating mechanical services and repairs with a local auto mechanic vendor.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Basic care and maintenance work including the scheduled cleaning and washing of vehicles, oil changes, tire rotations, and performing a basic multi-point inspection to confirm proper vehicle operating conditions and fluid levels and to identify any possible mechanical concerns or necessary repairs. Mechanical repairs are completed by a local auto mechanic vendor.

Coordinating mechanical services and repairs with a local auto mechanic vendor including scheduling of appointments, communicating required service, concerns, or repairs, and transport and pick-up of vehicles.

Other occasional duties assigned including mowing and light facilities maintenance work.

Education, Experience, and Qualifications: High School degree or equivalent; valid driver's license; good working knowledge of vehicle operation and systems; good working knowledge of vehicle preventative maintenance practices; demonstrated ability to perform routine vehicle maintenance; ability to maintain vehicle records.
