POW/MIA flag at VFW Park

2012-01-28 - 413 Fairground Street, Columiba, KY - Photo by Joe Hare, VFW Post 6097.
In honor and support of the many POW/MIA's still unaccounted for from all wars, VFW Post 6097 Columbia, began flying the POW/MIA flag today, Saturday, January 28, 2012. It is believed that there are still POW's in Southeast Asia from the Vietnam War. There also are a lot of MIA's who have never been accounted for in Vietnam. Our post has always supported efforts to find these POW's, but had just never had a flag up outside. We have had a POW/MIA "missing man" table set up in the hall for some time and now we are flying the flag outside for all to see. Joe Hare, Commander, VFW Post 6097, Columbia, KY

Shamarie Issues statement to clear the air

Passing on a double yellow line is dangerous. It's a legitimate issue.

Shamarie Claiborne
To Jennifer Parker: I wanted to take a moment and clear the air. I by no means was taking away from your issues about drivers in this area. In fact, I was agreeing with you.

Unless you have been reading the magazine for the past 4 years you may not have understood that.

I complain all the time about drivers not using their turn signals, passing when they shouldn't etc... this place is the world's worst!

It is a running joke with Ed and me that people think everyone knows where they're going so why do they have to use the road rules. So, I truly was being sarcastic about the fact that people think it is ok because they know what everyone is going to do.

I apologize if you felt it was anything other than respectful. It is a legitimate issue. Best Regards, Shamarie

George Rice thinks burglary tool not brake lever

But he suggests asking the perpetrators themselves should they be nice enough to come forward

George Rice writes:
I don't think that strange burglary tool would be a brake lever for an old wagon as I'm old enough to remember those old wagon brake system but I hope some one can come up with and I.d. as to what that tool is. Maybe the burglars would help identify it if they would come forward. - George Rice
