Letter: Historic table in Ladies Parlor at CUMC

Martha Berry writes:
In the Ladies Parlor there is (or was) a large table. That table was my Grandmother's' (Mrs Goodson). It was her piano when she was a child and was later converted to make that table. The small table in the picture is not the one. Grandmothers table was probably 4' by 6' and VERY heavy. The last I knew it was to the right of the door as you came in from the hall.

It was given to the Church by my Mother (Mrs. V.P Henry). To give you some idea of its age, my Grandmother was born in 1865, so it is well over 100 years old. I hope it is still there - it was almost tossed out several years ago.

Letter: looking for Casey, Walker relatives

Vernon Meierotto writes:
Are there any present day relatives of Colonel William Casey? The gravesite of Jane Casey, his wife, along with their small pioneer brick homestead is located in West Point, Iowa.

And my pre-Civil War home (established/built by an Alexander H. Walker, another Kentuckian), lies a block north of the town square. I'm seeking information related to the Casey-Walker relationships. My mailing address is 412 Ave F, West Point, IA 52656.

Respectfully yours,
Vernon C. Meierotto, CDR, USN (Ret.)
