(Turn right past the church onto the alley, South Monroe Street, and park in the back parking lot as we will use the back entrance off Monroe Street.) This meeting will be a Bring Your Own Lunch meeting. We hope to have something else in place moving forward. Meeting here will give us plenty of room to spread out and get better ventilation. Regulators settle with hundreds of mortgage loan originators By Laura Clewett Frankfort, KY - The Kentucky Department of Financial Institutions (DFI) and financial regulatory agencies from 42 other states reached settlements with 441 mortgage loan originators nationwide who deceptively claimed to have completed annual continuing education as required under state and federal law. "The mortgage industry is critical to Kentucky, as it helps Kentuckians finance homes," said Jeff D. Jacob, Director of DFI's Non-Depository Division. Statement from Dr. Stephens about ACMS Soft Lockdown From Dr. Pamela Stephens, Superintendent Adair County Schools This afternoon, Adair County Middle School entered a soft lockdown due to an assault in a restroom. The incident involved a knife and occurred when a male student assaulted another male student. We are relieved to report that the victim of the assault is okay. The case has been turned over to Columbia City Police for investigation. We wanted you to know about this so that you can speak with your child(ren) about this and address any of their concerns. If your child has concerns, we encourage them to speak to someone, whether at home or at school. Principals, counselors and teachers are wonderful people to help console students and make them feel wanted and safe in our buildings. Please know that we have several safety precautions in place and always want our students, parents and staff to know that safety is our top priority. KSP: Post 15 investigating fatal collision in Metcalfe Co. By Tpr. Nick Hale Edmonton, KY - Kentucky State Police are investigating a fatal collision that occurred on Monday, January 24, 2022 at 4:11 PM on U.S. 68 in Metcalfe County. Preliminary investigations indicate that Meridith Spear, age 32 of Magnolia, KY was operating a 2009 Nissan Altima south bound on U.S. 68 when she failed to correctly negotiate a curve and entered into the north bound lane. As she crossed the center line she struck a northbound 2008 Dodge box truck head-on. The truck was operated by Edward Harris, age 54 of Manchester, KY. House passes state spending plan and transportation budget Legislative Update By State Representative Sarge Pollock In an extraordinary move aimed at giving us enough time to consider tax modernization, I joined fellow members of the House in voting 85-8 to approve a budget proposal to fund our state agencies, programs, and services. The version of the bill we approved includes record funding for education, a continued commitment to the state's budget reserve trust fund, and pay increases for the Kentucky State Police, state employees, social workers, and educators.
