Football: LWC scores back to back shutout victories By Kyle Jackson For the first time in program history, No. 1-ranked Lindsey Wilson football recorded its first back-to-back shutout of an opponent after defeating No. 13 Georgetown (KY) 35-0 this afternoon. The Blue Raiders defeated Thomas More (KY) 47-0 a week ago. The story of the game was the Blue Raiders (5-0, 2-0 MSC Bluegrass Division) defense as Luke Bowman put in a shift today recording 10 tackles, two and a half sacks, and an interception in the game. In addition to Bowman's efforts, the Blue Raider defense recorded 11 tackles for a loss for a total of 57 lost yards on the Tigers offense including eight sacks on the Georgetown quarterback. The first sound coming from the back of the house I attributed to an animal running across the porch or the wind blowing down another limb. The noise grew louder and whatever was making the racket was close. Without hesitation, I eased into the breakfast room and flipped on the porch light in time to see a mammoth raccoon climbing on my patio couch. For a few minutes, I watched as he put his front paws on the back of the couch, his back paws on the bottom cushions, pulled himself up, and stuck his nose to the dining room window. COVID-19 update on ten-county LCDHD The Lake Cumberland District Health Department reports that of 25,450 new cases since the vaccine started becoming available, almost 94.55% were unvaccinated. Of today's 180 reported cases, 160 (89%) were unvaccinated and 41 of today's cases (23%) were in individuals 18 years of age or younger. Please take the necessary precautions to protect yourself and your loved ones. Consider getting the vaccine if you are eligible and haven't, and wear a mask when in indoor settings where there are large crowds.
