Alta Barbee Garnett, Columbia, KY, (1908-2011) She was a member of one of Columbia's most distinguished families and one of Columbia's most beloved citizens. She had seen and perfectly remembered more history of the Community than possibly any other Adair Countian, and shared her knowlege freely. Her close friendships transcended a century of generations. She was the oldest member of the Columbia Baptist Church and the oldest alumnus of Lindsey Wilson College. She had been a legal secretary and court reporter during her active working career.
