Letter: Curious

Marie Freeman writes:
Sure looks like the same color of the water that was behind the car wash that had the spill off. There's an article on Columbia Magazine about it. I'd be curious if that has any connection?

Student-created book a highlight of All in for Ag Education Week

Frankfort, KY - A book written and illustrated by two Kentucky students is at the center of this Spring's All in for Agriculture Education Week.

"Millie's Farm Day," written by eighth-grader Ayla Tolentino and illustrated by 11th-grader Blakely Beth Callahan, follows the day in a life of farmer, Kenzie, as seen through the eyes of a dairy cow named Millie.

"It's amazing how creative our young people can be," Kentucky Agriculture Commissioner Jonathan Shell said. "All in for Agriculture Education Week is designed to get agriculture in the classroom. This book does that in a fun, colorful way for our youngest future farmers."

Basketball: Indians face John Hardin on Feb 20

By Trey Stephens, Staff Writer

On Tuesday, February 17, 2026, the Adair County Indians Boys Varsity Basketball team fell at home 77-53 to the Caverna Colonels.

Landon Blakey led the scoring for Adair County with 12, followed by Tylin George and Dawson Gilbert with 10 each. The Tribe struggled from the floor, going just 42%, and only 29% from three point range, as well as a poor 56% from the free throw line. Tylin George led the team in rebounding with four.

Caverna shot the ball better from the floor, from three, and from the free throw line, while also out-rebounding Adair County. Adair County's leading scorer, Landon Blakey, would have not been within the top four scorers for the Colonels with his 12, and Tylin George's four rebounds that led the Tribe would have been fourth for Caverna.

The Tribe will seek a better outing as they face the John Hardin Bulldogs (6-22) on the road to close out the regular season at 6:30pmCT on Friday, February 20, 2026, at John Hardin High School, 384 W A Jenkins Rd, Elizabethtown, KY.
