Richard Robertson, Dog Promoter, eschews contests. Praise will do

Comments re article 43441 Happy ending Bear is backRichard Robertson writes:
Ed, you must have a good eye for dogs. I have noticed your use of the superlative 'great' in the description of Bear. Up Till now, I have made no attempt to distinguish Bear as a great dog. Bear's full name is NKC Bench Champion Combs' Bull Run Bear. I thought just "Bear" would suffice in the pursuit of his return. The first picture is of me showing Bear on the bench in Tell City IN. I will go any distance, and spare no expense to promote greatness. Bear won every award there for which he was qualified, including the coveted Best in Show! Jimmy Bennet implores me to make the following qualified statement though: Bear was the only dog in attendance. Some chose to seek out competition to enhance greatness. I choose to avoid competition and go for the accolades. Remember, distance is no deterence.

From Lower Bull Run,
Dog Promoter-Richard Robertson
Thanks for recognizing great wisdom and insight: I'm no Ruel Stotts when it comes to knowing dogs, but I do appreciate the grittiness of this breed, which, I'm told, is unafraid to tackle huge groundhogs, the kind which disembowel lesser breeds for pleasure. Since enemies of my enemies are my friends, I have high respect for Feists. The principle you cite, to choose to avoid competition and go for the accolades, is a good one. I can't imagine a better route to greatness. Being the onliest, too, is the same as being the best, isn't it? -EW

Oreo, a Great Indoor Cat, free to a good home

Ashley Curry writes:
I have a beautiful, loving black and white male cat named Oreo. Oreo came to live with us on Saturday, March 19, 2011, we were so happy to have him, but unfortunately, we are allergic. We have coughed, sneezed and have itchy eyes everytime we are with him. You may have seen the post on here about him a few weeks ago as this is where we found him. I am so sad to get rid of him, but he MUST go and soon. He is declawed (front paws) and neutered and is super sweet and playful. Oreo comes with free litter box, rest of a bag of food, carrier, bed, rest of the box of litter, water & food bowls, combs, poop scoop and sifting bags for the litter box & a rug for paw litter. Please if you know of anyone who could give him lots of love (and he is good with kids) please call me @ (270) 378-2363, or (270) 384-1505. Thanks. Ashley Curry

Birthday coincidences: Mother/daughter same day, family daily sequentials

Mother and daughter, Madelon and Glenda Butler share birthday today, April 2.

Greg Coomer's birthday, today, follows that of his father, Rollen Coomer, by one day.

That begs the question: What other family group has a longer skein of one-day sequential birthdays?

And another question: Did we leave any out? There are a large number of Birthdays, In Memory Birthdays, and Anniversaries today. If any are omitted, it was not intentional. Please submit using any Contact/Submit button.
