Lindsey Water Tower repainting: The Coronation

2016-06-10 - Lindsey Wilson Campus, Young Street side, Columbia, KY - Photo by George Kolbenschlag .
These brave fellows are showing the real meaning of being high. It’s not what it looks like. The tower is not being crowned. The apparatus being installed by these fearless guys is so the tower can be draped with "curtains" to keep the paint off my house and the cars in the parking lot at Lindsey. The curtains will be raised in the morning and brought back down in the evening because if the wind gets up they could act like huge sails and tower might end up a ship wreck in Canada. My understanding is they are planning on about eight weeks to complete the tower painting. - George Kolbenschlag. At the Thursday meeting of the Columbia/Adair Utilities District (CAUD), GM Lenny Stone and Commissioner Mike Newton confirmed that sandblasting is expected to start this morning, Friday, June 10, 2016. - CM
