Storm Clouds or Rays of Hope?

2012-07-11 - Adair Annex, 424 Public Square, Columbia, KY - Photo by Ed Waggener. The Historic Courthouse glistened in the evening sun before the regular meeting of Adair Fiscal Court, last night, but clouds added a foreboding, reflecting the worsening financial situation the hospital finds itself following a downward spiral of hospital utilization in the past 12 months under the management of Spectrum HealthCare Partners, overseen by the Adair County Hospital District Board. The court voted, unanimously, to seek Attorney General's opinions on the legal issues surrounding a proposed hospital tax which would survive the sale of the hospital to a For Profit group from Nashville which will leave a "shortfall" for the Hospital District.
