Inauguration 2011: Mayor, City Council take oaths

Mayor Mark Harris and members of the City Council affirm the Constitutional Oath of Office for Kentucky office holders, administered by CJE Ann Melton, back to camera, as City Clerk Sonya Roy, far left, awaits her turn for a separate swearing in. On the far right, Columbia First Lady Cindy Harris holds the family Bible for Mayor Harris. Facing the camera are (Sonya Roy), Councillors Jim Hadley, Tony Grider, Robert Flowers, Linda Waggener, June Parson, Craig Dean, (Mayor Harris, Cindy Harris). Hadley, Grider and Flowers are new members. The event was a symbolic display of Columbia-Adair County unity, as the the city officers officially took office at 12:01amCT, Saturday morning, January 1, 2011.
