Scenic Adair County - the look of late winter
2023-03-17 - Adair County, KY - Photo by Linda Waggener, ColumbiaMagazine.com. It's late in the winter season, 2023. Some days look and feel just like spring. Some days and nights drop to freezing temperatures and remind us that winter is not quite done. This is the look of late winter with just a few faded Beech leaves hanging on until the last minute.

Keepsakes from area history
2023-03-17 - Columbia, KY - Photo from Betty Shirley Knifley. Betty Shirley Knifley writes: "The story I've been told was that a set of this blue china was given to my Great grandmother, Miladean Hines Shirley, when she retired from working in the cafeteria of the M & F school. I'm thinking it was like some used there.
The keys belonged to my other Great grandmother, Lenora Howard Pickett, who left Pickett's Chapel with her husband, William Gaither Pickett to purchase and run the Pickett Hotel in Greensburg."
