The goal was to leave the hotel early enough in the morning, to get ahead of the sea fog/clouds that roll in off the ocean. This event tends to obscure most of the view of that mountain range. Fortunately we were successful in beating the fog, and stopped along the way to pull over and take some photos. Robert writes, "Once I crossed the stream at Ruby Beach, I was able to travel further and explore more of the 'haystacks' at the ocean's edge. Upon my return, while doing a little rockhounding, I happened upon sea foam displaying these colors. The phenomenon was brief, only lasting for a short while. No doubt, passers-by were wondering what this guy was doing squatted down with his camera taking pictures of what appeared to be nothing but foam.
