Tourism wins Community Enhancement award 2025
2025-08-05 - Adair County, KY - Photo by Stacey Biggs. Of the nominees for the 2025 Community Enhancement award, Adair County Tourism was voted the winner. Community enhancement was added as an award category a couple of years ago because the Chamber wanted to recognize those who make our community the best it can be. This year's recipient has certainly lived up to that creed and has showcased what makes up the best of our community so the world is seeing all that we have to offer.
Our county hired a full time Director so that Adair County has a very active Tourism Board with an Executive Director and Assistant Director. We now have a distinctive brand that is our logo, we renamed our building as the Columbia-Adair Welcome and Development Center. There are more videos than we can watch, showcasing Columbia and Adair County, not just as a place to live and grow your business, but also as a great place to visit. -- From introductions by Ellen Zornes, Executive Director, Chamber of Commerce

Adair County Kwik Lube voted Small Business of 2025
2025-08-05 - Adair County, KY - Photo by Stacey Biggs. From this group of nominees, Adair County Kwik Lube was voted the 2025 Small Business of the Year. In 2017, four local business leaders came together with a shared goal - to create jobs and offer Adair County a new option for oil changes, new tires, and a wide range of auto services. From that vision, Adair County Kwik Lube was born.
Located at 232 Will Walker Road in the Pinewood Shopping Center, the business is managed by Bruce and Shannon Sexton, with strong support from business partners and family, Mendel and LaGene Sexton. Together, this team has transformed their venture into a cornerstone of New Columbia's automotive service industry. -- From introductions by Ellen Zornes, Executive Director, Chamber of Commerce
