Volunteers guide visitors through WCD story

2025-09-04 - Russell County, KY - Photo by Linda Waggener, ColumbiaMagazine.com.
Just one of many displays in the Wolf Creek National Fish Hatchery welcome area. Volunteers are always welcome to help host visitors. This display says, "Lake Cumberland stretches 100 miles behind the Wolf Creek Dam. The result of Lake Cumberland being formed was the addition of 55,000 acres of newly formed water. Lake Cumberland consists of 3 layers of water behind the dam. The top layer is the Flood Control Pool. The second layer is the Power Pool. The third and final layer is the Conservation Pool."
