Deputy Gary Roy makes appeal to Fiscal Court

2024-09-25 - Columbia, KY - Photo by Vicky Pike of Miss Vicky's Pampered Angus Ranch.
Deputy Gary Roy, center, made a heartfelt appeal to Fiscal Court at Tuesday night's meeting. He made the point that citizens do not care if the Judge and Magistrates dislike each other, this issue at hand is about the Adair County Sheriff's Department. He said continuing the way it has been could result in something like what happened in Russell County last week. He said Fiscal Court had the perfect opportunity to show appreciation for the officers - thanking Magistrate Chris Reeder for putting together a proposal for a $5 hour raise for Deputies. Pictured standing in the center with Deputy Roy are Deputies Brandon Hicks, and newly hired Deputy Emily Wall. The proposal was voted in unanimously.
