Raccoons are everywhere this season

This Raccoon was probably thinking he'd really like to come in - climb through the kitchen window, sniff out the sink and dishes and enjoy any leftovers from dinner. Photographer Graham Waggener said no, but had to take a picture of the earnest face looking in his window.

Chamber banquet and Tourism event

A highlight of July was the 2025 Columbia Adair County Chamber of Commerce awards banquet. The full-house event was held at The Barn at Cedar Cove and was followed by the second annual Adair County Tourism Mixer.

Metcalfe Educational Foundation receives $5K donation

Candela Renewables, a leading developer of utility-scale solar and energy storage projects in the U.S., has announced a $5,000 donation to the Metcalfe County Educational Foundation (MCEF) to assist in supporting summer camp experiences for Metcalfe County gifted and talented students at Western Kentucky University (WKU), along with other related projects. The donation was presented July 8 at the district office.
