New school, Arts Atelier 146, opens to students
 2024-07-10 - Boyle County, KY - Photo from the school. A new art school, Arts Atelier 146, has opened for higher education in Burgin, Kentucky. Arts Atelier 146 is a Christ-centered institution of creative professionals. The vision as an institution is to provide the knowledge and skills necessary for students to become industry professionals in the fields of drawing, illustration, graphic design, animation, and art of gaming. They teach the Disney / Pixar way of animation and storytelling. Pictured at the ribbon cutting are, from left, Dr. Michael and Debbie Carter, Dylan Morse, Taren Morse, William Morse, Devin Morse, Dana Morse, Michael and Carol Conover. The Grand Opening was on June 1, 2024.

Sailing experience during 2024 Boy Scout camp
 2024-07-09 - Columbia, KY - Photo from Scout Troop 185. Ty Coleman had a unique experience only a select few scouts got to do during the Pfeffer Scout Reservation for Boy Scout camp. He set sail from the camp and traveled thirty five miles along Kentucky Lake spending a majority of his week on the water.

Scenic Kentucky: Frankfort from the river
 2024-07-09 - Frankfort, KY - Photo by Pen. The War Mothers Memorial Bridge, as seen from the Kentucky River in downtown Frankfort. The red building at left is the renovated State Arsenal, built in 1850. It is now home to the Kentucky Military History Museum. The building is jointly operated by the Kentucky Historical Society and the Kentucky Department for Military Affairs.

A reminder to slow down this time of year
 2024-07-09 - Highway 55 South, well north of Columbia - Photo by Pen. A reminder to drivers that there's lots of people using the roads this time of year, and it's always good to leave room for the unexpected. Sometimes, just when you think it's safe to pass a slow-moving farm vehicle, the whole convoy will have to change lanes for a stalled log truck undergoing emergency repairs.
