Tiger Lillies in full bloom

2024-07-16 - Cane Valley, KY - Photo by Robert Ellis, Robert Ellis Woodworking.
Robert writes, "The season for the Tiger Lillies in full bloom has come and gone here at my place in Cane Valley. What started as a lone plant many years ago has now grown to at least 10 in front of the woodworking shop. Every year I make an attempt to get a decent photo of them in their glory. This is the 2024 cell phone version of that attempt."

Groundhog invasion in downtown Columbia

2024-07-15 - Photo by Linda Waggener, ColumbiaMagazine.com.
There is a population explosion of groundhogs in downtown Columbia. This food party time picture is made near the little Town Creek that runs from Hurt Street to Jamestown Street, Lindsey Wilson Street, etc. Reports of the animals have come from all over the city, not just the creek. It's time to declare hunting season on them and call in the Hunters for the Hungry - we hear the groundhog meat is as tasty as chicken.
