All Magistrates and Fiscal Court officials wee present Tuesday, July 23, 2024 for the regular monthly meeting. A highlight of the meeting was gaining agreement and the ACJE's signature on the million dollar grant to go toward full restoration of the historic Adair County Courthouse, the key landmark of this place. The Adair County Fair got started Tuesday, July 23, 2024 with the 4-H Youth Floral Hall. Sarah Dean shared that her little ones, Thomas, at left, and Anna, are Proud of their Cloverbud floral hall entries! Cloverbud 4-H is for youth ages 8 and under.

Business/Professional Woman 2024: Pam Hoots

The 2024 Chamber of Commerce Business/Professional Woman of the Year is Pam Hoots. She is pictured here holding her little niece Noraly Bruns, 2, as she accepts the award from Chamber Executive Director Ellen Zornes. Mayor Pam works tirelessly from early in the morning til on into late in the evening - driving around Columbia, with Jakky by her side - just checking that everything is alright in the town she loves. Although Columbia is Pam's hometown, she did leave for a while for work but found her way back home, and when she did, as an experienced former mayor, many asked her to consider running for office again. She did - and the rest is history.
