Solitary Groundhog
2024-08-13 - Clarksville, IN - Photo by Pen. We stopped by the George Rogers Clark Homesite over the weekend, and had the place mostly to ourselves, except for this groundhog, who seemed a bit upset to no longer have the park to himself. He retreated into the brush to watch as we explored.
Clark's Homesite, located at the lower end of the Falls of The Ohio just across the Ohio River from downtown Louisville, has a commanding view of the Falls and the river as it bends toward New Albany.

Mushroom Hunting
2024-08-13 - Fairplay, KY - Photo by Veronica Arnold. Veronica writes, "The weather has been so glorious, it seems a shame to sit indoors. So my little one and I went for a walk in the woods. We were on the hunt for mushrooms. Not to eat, but just to find and examine. Every time we saw one that looked different, we picked it to put in our hunting basket. We also looked for bones, fossils and geodes. Just a good nature expedition. Nature didn't disappoint. Group shot and a few close up."
