LWC Scholar-Athletes pose with President Luckey

Saturday was a big win for Blue Raider scholar-athletes who celebrated success both on the court and in the classroom. In addition to receiving their diplomas, they were honored for their outstanding academic achievements, having earned a 3.5 GPA or higher in the semester before graduation.

Hats off to the LWC Hybrid Master's Program for great attendance

Lindsey Wilson College hosted two ceremonies on Saturday to accommodate the large crowd expected for the largest winter commencement in the College's history. The second ceremony recognized graduates from the College's hybrid master's program, with more than 240 students traveling from across the country to attend the event on the Columbia campus. Graduates journeyed from states as far as Texas, New Jersey, Arizona, New York, Illinois, North Carolina, Kansas, Colorado, Maryland, Florida, South Carolina and Georgia just to name a few.

Record number of doctoral degrees presented

Not only did LWC confer the most degrees (843) in college history at a winter ceremony on Saturday, the College also conferred the highest number of doctoral degrees. Eleven students from the Doctor of Philosophy in Counselor Education & Supervision walked across the stage to receive their terminal diplomas from LWC President William T. Luckey Jr.

A Family Tradition

Shelley Smith, far left, daughter of the late Betty Brown, wore her mother's blue coat to Lindsey Wilson College's 120th commencement ceremony on Saturday. Brown served Lindsey Wilson for more than 30 years and was executive assistant to the college's last three presidents.

Smith, who also attended Lindsey Wilson, wore the coat to celebrate her future daughter-in-law, Callie Montgomery, who earned her education degree.
