Kentucky Color: Current Rage

Billy Joe writes, "If you've been paying attention, you have probably noticed the current rage in landscape plants is Limelight Hydrangeas.

Boxwoods, Yews and Knockout Roses have all faded from popularity to be replaced in many motifs by the Limelight variety of Hydrangeas!

There are several Limelight varieties. We have three; the Bobo (not pictured), the original Limelight pictured in the middle with the Little Lime on the top and bottom."

Discovering Turner family connections

The hundred-year-old dress, now at the Adair Genealogy Center, was last worn by Trilby Vance, at right. The event was the only Turner Reunion held in the last half century at the old Turner homeplace in Inroad. Turner pioneer settled his family in Inroad


2025-08-16 - Downtown Columbia, KY - Photo from Adair History and Genealogy Center.
Pioneer Joseph Turner brought his family from Virginia to settle in southern Adair County in the late 1790s or early 1800s. The original log home, added onto many times over the years, was located in "Inroad" at the confluence of Burns Creek with Crocus Creek. The historic Turner homeplace burned in the 1980s.

Classic Ford Fairlane pulling alongside

This red Ford Fairlane pulled alongside on a recent trip through Lebanon. It's now a classic American automobile, having been produced by Ford between 1955 and 1970.
