Close Enough, Papa!

2025-09-11 - Cane Valley, KY - Photo by Robert Ellis, robertelliswoodworking.com.
Robert writes, "The last few times my grandson visited, we check up on the status of my resident 'garden spider'. In doing so, I'm attempting to teach my grandson Sawyer that spiders are our friends. 'Sally', (he helped choose the name) resides on the backside of my woodworking shop. Sawyer's warming up to the notion that spiders can be friendly...but still wants to maintain a safe distance."

September 11 Sunrise

2025-09-11 - Adair Co., KY - Photo by Roldcat.
Roldcat writes, "At 6:13am the fiery glow of a bright orange sun crests Melson Ridge in southeastern Adair County. Usually, only at first light and last light of the day is the sun viewable with the naked eye. It appears as a large orange ball in the sky then quickly turns too yellow to view any longer. It is a beautiful treat when you get to witness it like this."

Vintage VW bus

2025-09-10 - Louisville, KY - Photo by Pen.
Most of the vendors at this year's World Fest in Louisville parked their vehicles well away from the throng of attendees, but this classic VW bus was tucked in between canopies. I couldn't tell if it was to draw attention to the booth, or just so the owner could keep a watchful eye on it.
