2025 Kentucky State Fair winners: Kayla Allen, Breanna Foster, Emma Dorman, and Katherine Lemon (not listed in order) received the 9th place ribbon for the Florticulture contest. "Floriculture" is the cultivation of flowering and ornamental plants, primarily for gardens and the floral industry.

Remi the Beagle

Noted children's author Katja Klarette's latest book, "Walking with Shiloh," is about a young girl and her beagle, Shiloh, who is based on Peg Schaeffer's indomitable beagle, Remi.

"Walking with Shiloh" is published by Creation River Books, and available for purchase on Amazon. The 39-page paperback is geared for readers from 2 - 8 years, and priced at just $12.99. All proceeds from sales of the book will go to animal rescue.
