Travel: Turnagain Arm Scenic Boardwalk

Boardwalk along the the Turnagain Arm Inlet at the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center, located about 50 miles from Anchorage. Alaska.org says, "Just south of Anchorage, the Seward Highway hugs the dramatic shorelines of Turnagain Arm, arguably one of the most beautiful stretches of highway in America. Chugach State Park's 3000-foot mountains jut up on your left."

Black Bear at the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center

One of the rescued bears in the Black Bear Exhibit at the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center, located about 50 miles from Anchorage. AWCC takes in injured and orphaned animals year-round and provides them with spacious enclosures and quality animal care. Most of the animals that arrive at the AWCC become permanent residents and will always have a home here. (alaskawildlife.org.

Travel: Glacier meets the water

Wikipedia says, "The Knik Glacier is an ice field located 50 miles east of Anchorage, Alaska on the northern end of the Chugach Mountains. The ice field averages over 25 miles long and over 5 miles across, making it one of the largest glaciers in southcentral Alaska. Knik Glacier feeds the 25-mile long Knik River which empties into the Knik Arm section of Cook Inlet."

The Historic Antioch Church

Antioch Church in the Sparksville community of Adair County will be holding a 160 Year Celebration on Sunday, September 7, 2025, with a morning service beginning at 10amCT, with a meal to follow around NoonCT. Everyone is invited. Judy says, "This milestone event will include worship, fellowship, and sharing many precious memories."
